Planners vs. Coordinators

Wedding planners, day-of coordinators, and venue managers all help. But they do different jobs. Here is a simple look at who handles what.

At a Glance

Culinary Canvas venue managers are not wedding planners or day-of coordinators.

Your venue manager handles the venue, the food, and the bar. For weddings, we highly recommend a professional day-of coordinator. You do not need a full wedding planner.

FAQ

Role Questions

Do I need a day-of coordinator?

For weddings, we highly recommend one. A professional day-of coordinator becomes the point of contact for your vendors on the day. That way, you and your partner are not the ones answering vendor questions. They run your timeline, cue the ceremony, and keep the day on track.

Do I need a wedding planner?

No. Many couples plan their wedding themselves, with their venue manager and a day-of coordinator.

Is my venue manager my wedding planner?

No. Your venue manager handles the venue, the food, and the bar. For your full day timeline and outside vendors, hire a day-of coordinator.

Can you recommend a planner?

Yes. Ask your venue manager for planners and day-of coordinators we trust.

Ready to plan?

Send a planning request. A venue manager will follow up to set up a tour.
